Day to day

The rules that keep the building calm.

The short version of the policies every family agrees to. The Parent Handbook and Child Placement Contract have the full wording.

Drop-off and pick-up

  • Sign your child in every morning and out every afternoon.
  • Only adults listed on the registration form may pick up. Staff will ask anyone they do not recognize for photo ID. Older siblings may not sign children out.
  • Keep a consistent drop-off and pick-up time. Children are not admitted after 10:00 AM and may attend up to nine consecutive hours.
  • The school closes at 6:00 PM. Pick-up after 6:00 PM is billed at $15 for every fifteen minutes or part of one.

When to keep your child home

  • Children with a fever, rash or diarrhea cannot attend.
  • A child with a suspected communicable disease stays home until it is no longer contagious.
  • If a child becomes ill at school, a parent is contacted and must arrange immediate pick-up.
  • To report an absence, call 248-668-7035 and leave a message on or before the day.

Meals and snacks

  • The school provides a morning and an afternoon snack.
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided by families.
  • Special dietary needs should be discussed with the director.

Schedule changes and withdrawal

  • Schedules can change with two weeks’ written notice, as long as space is available.
  • Withdrawal requires two weeks’ written notice; unused prepaid tuition is reimbursed.
  • Vacation credit: up to three weeks during the academic year and two in summer, in full weeks, with two weeks’ notice.

Weather and closures

  • The school closes for inclement weather as needed, and for the holidays listed on the calendar.
  • No credit is given for sick days, snow days or partial-week absences.

Licensing and safety

  • The program and facilities are licensed by the State of Michigan.
  • The licensing notebook, with inspection reports and any corrective action plans, is available for review in the director’s office during business hours.
  • Inspection reports are also published at michigan.gov/childcare.

A protected parent resources area is planned for a future update to this site.
